About Harvest Design…
Nancy Mannion
Principal
Freelance design work was going to be temporary after Nancy had her first child and took a break as Director of Publications from a small New England college. While her oldest was really young she worked in a play room doing design work for a few small businesses. Working remotely was so new at the time, that the Boston Herald even included her in a story about working from home.
She met the owner of a local public relations firm at a Chamber of Commerce event (thanks, Dave K.!) who trusted her and funneled work Nancy’s way. She ended up becoming one of 3 freelance designers for his firm – before working remotely became the norm. Because Nancy’s design background was in higher ed, and the firm had several higher ed clients, she ended up designing view books, annual reports and other print materials for several universities. Soon after, clients from the insurance, manufacturing and small business areas began hiring Mannion.
As a result of these experiences, Harvest Design was launched in 1994.
Our clients are awesome people. We’ve had the pleasure of working for some of them for over 20 years. They are from the diverse fields of manufacturing, nonprofits, small businesses and education.
In Nancy’s past life, she was Director of Publications at Mount Wachusett Community College, Designer and Publicist for the Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford (awesome gig!) and Graphic Designer for Chevalier Associates advertising agency. She graduated with a BFA from the Visual Design program at the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth.
When not working, Mannion is usually doing something outside, traveling, watching Penn State football, drinking craft beers, walking or reading.
We love working with new customers and learning about their businesses. How can Harvest Design provide solutions to your graphic design needs?
